Penn State Health Milton Hershey Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the Hershey Outpatient Surgery Center. This PRN, non‑exempt role involves day shift coverage with varied 8‑hour shifts, no weekends or holidays, and a strong emphasis on sterile technique and instrument handling.

Responsibilities include scrubbing, preparing supplies, and assisting with patient care under RN guidance.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program with certification.
• Certification within six months of graduation is acceptable for new graduates.
• BLS certification required prior to orientation completion.

Responsabilités

• Performs scrub duties and assists in-patient care in the Operating Room under RN supervision.
• Prepares supplies and equipment for surgical procedures and maintains aseptic technique.
• Participates in procedures by handling instruments safely and applying anatomy and physiology concepts.
• Possesses potential to precept students and less experienced staff; serves diverse patient populations.
