Job summary

MetroHealth Medical Center in Ohio is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team. The role involves performing duties in the operating room, maintaining cleanliness and efficiency of OR services, and providing care from neonate to geriatric patients.

You will orient staff to equipment and procedures and serve as a role model for other OR technicians and students. The position requires CST certification and BLS, with growth benefits as part of a major health system.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology.
• Possesses and maintains certification as a surgical technologist (CST) from the NBSTSA.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support certification or obtains within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Performs various duties in the operating room.
• Maintains the cleanliness and efficiency of operating room services.
• Performs limited neonate through geriatric patient care services.
• Orients employees to equipment and procedures.
• Serves as a role model to other operation room technicians and students.
