Job summary

MetroHealth Medical Center in Ohio seeks a Surgical Technician to perform operating room duties and support sterile environment maintenance. The role includes patient care from neonates to geriatrics and orientation of new staff to equipment and procedures.

The technician will model professional standards and uphold the MetroHealth mission and customer service values. Biweekly hours are 80, with shifts 7a-3:30p, 3p-11:30p, and 11p-7:30a.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology.
• Possesses and maintains certification as a surgical technologist (CST) from NBSTSA.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support certification or obtains within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Performs various duties in the operating room.
• Maintains the cleanliness and efficiency of operating room services.
• Performs limited neonate through geriatric patient care services.
• Orients employees to equipment and procedures.
• Serves as a role model to other operation room technicians and students.
• Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

CST certification NBSTSA

AHA BLS certification (or within 90 days)
