Job summary

Townsen Memorial Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our operating room team. You will scrub in and assist the physician for all cases, prepare instrumentation, and support sterile processing duties after cases.

The role requires formal surgical technology education, certification, and BLS. Responsibilities include inventory management, instrument decontamination, and ensuring room turnover with patient safety and policy adherence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Formal education in surgical technology.
• Current Surgical Technologist Certification from an accredited program or equivalent training.
• BLS certified; additional educational requirements by due dates.
• Annual employee health requirement per facility policy.

Responsibilities

• Scrub in and assist the physician for all cases.
• Manage instrument inventory and stock levels for carts and sets.
• Assemble, decontaminate, and sterilize instrumentation per policy.
• Follows sterilization methods and documents loads and tests.
• Support room turnovers and safe handling of biohazardous materials.
• Provide guidance and training to other staff as needed.
