Job summary

Townsen Memorial Hospital in Houston, TX seeks a Surgical Technologist to join our team. The role includes scrubbing in and assisting physicians for all cases, and supporting sterile processing after each case with decontamination, packaging, sterilization and storage per department policies.

Responsibilities include managing instrumentation inventory, preparing carts, delivering supplies to the OR, and monitoring sterilization processes, while training staff and upholding patient privacy and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Formal education in surgical technology.
• Current Surgical Technologist Certification or equivalent training.
• BLS certification required; health requirement per facility policy.

Responsibilities

• Scrub in and assist physician for all cases.
• Maintain sterile processing: decontamination, packaging, sterilization and storage.
• Manage instrumentation inventory and stock levels for carts and supplies.
• Follow manufacturers' instructions for sterilization methods.
• Document sterilization loads and QC tests.
• Prepare carts and deliver instrumentation to the OR as needed.
• Conduct rounds to ensure instrument needs are met in the OR.
• Support safety, privacy, and cleanliness in the department.
