Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Surgical Technologist to provide safe, efficient intraoperative support under RN supervision, collaborating closely with the surgical team. The role emphasizes sterile technique, instrument preparation, and adaptability to perioperative needs.

Qualified candidates will have graduation from an accredited surgical technology program and NBSTSA certification within one year of hire, plus BLS. This is a nonexempt, full-time position with 8-hour rotating shifts across sites.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited or military surgical technology program.
• Certification in Surgical Technology from the NBSTSA required within one year of hire date and maintained thereafter.
• Maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers through the AHA or Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe and efficient care to the surgical patient under the supervision of the RN and in collaboration with the surgeon.
• Functions primarily in the scrub role and is responsible for selecting, preparing, and maintaining instrumentation, equipment, and supplies.
• Demonstrates knowledge in sterile and aseptic technique and adapts to unpredictable perioperative situations.
• Utilizes knowledge of anatomy, surgical procedures, and instrumentation as a member of the surgical team.
