Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking a qualified Surgical Technologist (CST/ST) to support the Operating Room team. You will hand sterile instruments, assist during procedures, and help coordinate patient care with the surgical staff.

This full-time role (40 hours/week) follows 8-hour day shifts, with additional call hours. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, postsecondary surgical technology training, and BLS certification; certification preferred.

• Surgical Technology Certification preferred. Non-licensed candidates may be considered with experience. BLS required.

Position Details

Surgical Technologist (CST/ST)

Location: Mercy Hospital Southeast, Cape Girardeau, MO

Department: Operating Room

Status: Full-Time - 40 hours/week

Shift: 8 Hour Days (Mon-Fri) + Additional Call Hours

• Experience: Surgical technologist/scrub experience preferred for Surgical Technologist roles; and is required to be considered for Level II/III.


• Required Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Successful completion of a postsecondary certificate or associate's degree in Surgical Technology from an accredited surgical technology program preferred.


• Certification/Licensure: Surgical Technology Certification preferred. Non-licensed/certified candidates may be considered with applicable surgical technologist experience. Basic Life Support (BLS) required.


• Other: Must understand English both written and spoken, must be able to safely and successfully perform job-related functions, with or without reasonable accommodation required by federal, state, or local law. Physical requirements/demands:
  
  
  • Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  
  
  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift.
  
  
  • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
