Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO seeks a Surgical Technologist (CST/ST) to support the operating room team. This full-time position includes 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, with additional call hours as needed.

Responsibilities include passing instruments and coordinating patient care with the surgical team. Required education includes a high school diploma or GED, with preferred postsecondary certification or associate degree in Surgical Technology and BLS.

Performs the primary function of a Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room. Maintains accountability for the provision of surgical instruments to the surgical team. Coordinates the care of the surgical patient with other team members. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality. Position Details:

Surgical Technologist (CST/ST)

Location: Mercy Hospital Southeast, Cape Girardeau, MO

Department: Operating Room

Status: Full-Time - 40 hours/week

Shift: 8 Hour Days (Mon-Fri) + Additional Call Hours

Qualifications:

• Experience: Surgical technologist/scrub experience preferred for Surgical Technologist roles; and is required to be considered for Level II/III.
• Required Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Successful completion of a postsecondary certificate or associate's degree in Surgical Technology from an accredited surgical technology program preferred.
• Certification/Licensure: Surgical Technology Certification preferred. Non-licensed/certified candidates may be considered with applicable surgical technologist experience. Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Other:Must understand English both written and spoken, must be able to safely and successfully perform job-related functions, with or without reasonable accommodation required by federal, state, or local law. Physical requirements/demands:
  • Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift.
  • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
