Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the Operating Room in Fort Smith, Arkansas. You will handle surgical instruments for the team and coordinate patient care with the surgical staff, upholding patient rights and Mercy Service Standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification, and English proficiency. Preference is given to candidates with a postsecondary certificate or associate degree in Surgical Technology and active certification.

Qualifications

Position Details

Minimum Qualifications

Education

High-School Diploma or GED are required. You may be asked to provide proof of education.

Licensure

Non-licensed/certified candidates may be considered.

Experience

Non-24-Hour Opportunity locations May consider non-certified candidates with applicable surgical technologist experience. 24-Hour-Opportunity locations May consider non-experienced perioperative candidates.

Certifications

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Other

Must understand English both written and spoken, must be able to safely and successfully perform job-related functions, with or without reasonable accommodation required by federal, state, or local law.

Preferred Education

Successful completion of a Postsecondary certificate or associate degree in Surgical Technology from an accredited surgical technology program.

Preferred Licensure

Certification

Surgical Technology Certification preferred.
