Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist for Mount Holly. The role involves scrubbing, preparing instruments, and assisting during procedures in the OR and ambulatory surgery settings.

The candidate will float between Mount Holly Operating Room and the ambulatory surgery department, with a three-shift per week schedule and 2nd on-call requirements. BLS and completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program are required.

Qualifications

• One year OR training or experience required.
• BLS certification required; CPR-trained.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• New Jersey state CE requirements: 15 CEs per year.

Responsibilities

• Scrub for, prepare, set up and assist during surgical procedures.
• Transport and transfer patients between units as needed.
• Prepare instruments and supplies for future procedures; handle specimens.

Job Information:

FLOAT Team Minimum of 1 year of OR Experience The Position will float between Mount Holly Operating Room and the Mount Holly Ambulatory - Surgery department (Operating Room) based on the surgical need.

Shifts: Three, 10‑hour shifts per week 7a - 5:30pm Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday

On‑Call Requirements:

The position will be responsible for 2nd on‑call requirements and Holiday on‑call for the Mount Holly Operating Room.

Summary:

Under the direction of the Registered Nurse and/or Physician, the Surgical Technologist handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.

Position Responsibilities:

• Scrubs for, prepares, sets‑up and assists during any surgical procedure and provides support to nursing and ancillary departments by transporting and transferring patients to and between units when necessary.
• Prepares instruments and supplies for future procedures.
• Collects and handles specimens according to policy and procedures.

Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required:

One year OR Training or Experience. Required Education: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Training Program. Training/Certifications/Licensure: BLS. Surgical Technologist Certification preferred Maintenance of New Jersey State required 15 CEs per year.

Hourly Rate:

Hourly Rate: $28.63 - $44.54 The actual salary/rate will vary based on applicant’s experience as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
