Emerson Health in Concord, MA is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the perioperative team. You will scrub and assist circulator roles, prepare the operating room, and maintain a sterile environment to support safe patient care.

Responsibilities include setting up instruments, passing supplies, assisting with positioning, and supporting the anesthesia team. Opportunity to lead as a subject matter expert and precept new staff in a fast-paced OR setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• NBSTSA Certification in Surgical Technology required unless grandfathered by MA law.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to anticipate needs in a fast-paced environment.

Responsabilités

• Prepare the OR for procedures by gathering instruments, supplies, and equipment based on surgeon preference cards.
• Set up and maintain sterile fields, ensuring integrity and adherence to aseptic technique.
• Anticipate the surgeon’s needs, passing instruments, sutures, and supplies efficiently and accurately.
• Assist in positioning patients and supporting the anesthesia team.
• Handle medication setup on the sterile field according to policy and surgeon instructions.
• Perform safety protocols such as sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
• Properly prepare specimens and contaminated instrumentation for processing.
• Assist in room turnover, including cleaning and preparation for the next case.
• Support patient rights, dignity, and safety at every step.
