Job summary

Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technologist for a part-time night shift (7:00 pm–7:30 am). You will scrub, assist the circulator, prepare the OR, maintain sterile technique, and support the anesthesia team to ensure safe, efficient procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the OR for procedures by gathering instruments, supplies, and equipment based on surgeon preference cards.
• Set up and maintain sterile fields, ensuring aseptic technique.
• Anticipate the surgeon’s needs, passing instruments, sutures, and supplies efficiently and accurately.
• Assist in positioning patients and supporting the anesthesia team.
• Handle medication setup on the sterile field according to policy and surgeon instructions.
• Perform safety protocols such as sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
• Prepare specimens and contaminated instrumentation for processing.
• Assist in room turnover and prepare for the next case.
• Support patient rights, dignity, and safety at every step.

About the Role

Step into the heart of patient care and surgical excellence. As a Surgical Technologist, you'll be a vital member of our perioperative team, working alongside surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists to ensure every procedure runs smoothly and safely. Your focus will be on the scrub person and assist circulator roles, preparing the operating room, anticipating the surgeon’s needs, and maintaining a sterile environment. You'll also have the opportunity to serve as a subject matter expert for a surgical specialty and precept new scrub personnel making this role both hands‑on and leadership‑driven.

What You'll Do

What You'll Bring
