Job summary

HCA Florida University Hospital in Broward County, FL is seeking a Certified Obstetric Surgical Technologist to join a collaborative obstetric and surgical team. You will prepare the surgical suite, assist during procedures, and help deliver compassionate, safe care to mothers and newborns.

This role offers access to training, mentorship, on-call support, and clear pathways for growth within a nationwide transfer policy. Eligible candidates possess a CST and at least 1 year of experience.

Qualifications

• CST certification required.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• 1 year of experience in surgical technology or obstetrics setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the surgical suite and organize instruments, equipment, and supplies for obstetric procedures.
• Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping while maintaining comfort, privacy, and safety.
• Provide instruments and hands-on support to the surgical team during obstetric procedures.
• Maintain a sterile field, perform counts, and ensure instruments and equipment function properly.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to deliver patient-centered care and a seamless obstetric experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing the surgical suite and organizing instruments, equipment, and supplies to support safe, efficient procedures
• Assisting with patient positioning, prepping, and draping while maintaining comfort, privacy, and safety
• Providing instruments, equipment, and hands‑on support to the surgical team during obstetric procedures
• Maintaining a sterile field, performing counts, and ensuring instruments and equipment function properly
• Working closely with the surgical team to deliver patient‑centered care and a seamless surgical experience

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (CST) Certified Surgical Technologist
• 1 year of experience required
