Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the Operating Room team in Needham. The role supports pediatric surgical teams by providing sterile instruments, organizing supplies, and assisting with stock management in a family‑centered perioperative setting.

Shifts are 10 hours with short‑call requirements and a sign-on bonus may apply for eligible candidates. Experience: 1 year in a Surgical Technologist role is preferred; pediatric experience is favored.

Position Summary/ Department Summary:

We are seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the team within our Operating Room at Needham.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing sterile instruments to surgical teams during surgery.
• Organizing and arranging sterile instruments and supplies.
• Collecting and removing contaminated items at completion of cases.
• Assisting circulating nurses in maintaining adequate stock of sterile supplies.
• Working collaboratively in a family-centered peri-operative environment.
• Working 10-hour shifts with short-call requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience:

• 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience preferred.
• Pediatric experience preferred.

License/Certifications:

• A certificate from a Surgical Technologist program OR Individuals employed as surgical technologists in a surgical facility on or before July 1, 2013, OR Individuals who have completed a training program for surgical technology in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps or Coast Guard of the United States or in the United States Public Health Service.
• Pediatric experience preferred.

*Sign-on bonus of $10,000 for full-time hires with over 1 year of direct OR experience as a Surgical Tech (who have not worked here in the past 2 years).*

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
