Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital seeks a Surgical Technologist to join the OR team in Needham, MA. You will provide instruments, organize supplies, and support peri-operative care while working 10-hour shifts with short-call requirements.

Candidates should have a Surgical Technologist certificate and at least 1 year of experience, with pediatric experience preferred. A sign-on bonus is offered for full-time hires with relevant OR experience.

Job description

Position Summary/ Department Summary:

We are seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the team within our Operating Room at Needham.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing sterile instruments to surgical teams during surgery.
• Organizing and arranging sterile instruments and supplies.
• Collecting and removing contaminated items at completion of cases.
• Assisting circulating nurses in maintaining adequate stock of sterile supplies.
• Working collaboratively in a family-centered peri-operative environment.
• Working 10-hour shifts with short-call requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Experience:

• 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience preferred.
• Pediatric experience preferred.

License/Certifications:

• A certificate from a Surgical Technologist program OR Individuals employed as surgical technologists in a surgical facility on or before July 1, 2013, OR Individuals who have completed a training program for surgical technology in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps or Coast Guard of the United States or in the United States Public Health Service.
• Pediatric experience preferred.
