Job summary

NorthShore University HealthSystem is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our operating room team. This full-time, day-shift role supports intraoperative procedures, prepares instruments, maintains sterile technique, and assists with counts and specimen handling.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, graduation from an approved Surgical Technologist program, CPR certification, and CST preferred. Competitive benefits and premium pay are offered.

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Current CPR certification required; CST certification highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform scrub person duties during the intraoperative phase of surgical procedures.
• Assist in preparation and dispensing of instruments, equipment and supplies for procedures.
• Conduct instrument, needle, sharps and sponge counts and handle specimens.
• Assist in applying dressings or casts and moving patients.
• Assist in decontamination/reprocessing area when assigned.
• Maintain inventory in Operating Room and on carts.

Hourly Pay Range

$24.86 - $37.29 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Locations available may include

• Northwest Community Hospital
• Evanston Hospital
• Glenbrook Hospital
• Skokie Hospital

Shifts Available

• Full-time
• Day shifts

What you will need

• Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist school or minimum 3 years' experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Certification: Current CPR certification required. Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) highly preferred.
