Job summary

NorthShore University HealthSystem is seeking a Surgical Technologist for full-time day shifts at Evanston Hospital and partner locations. The role includes assisting intraoperative procedures, instrument preparation, and maintaining OR inventory.

Education must include a Surgical Technologist program; CPR certification is required, CST certification is a plus. Compensation reflects experience and includes benefits and growth opportunities with NorthShore.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate or equivalent; Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist school or minimum 3 years' experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Certification: Current CPR certification required; CST highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform scrub person duties during the intraoperative phase of surgical procedures.
• Assist in the preparation and dispensing of instruments, equipment and supplies required for surgical procedures.
• Conduct all instrument, needle, sharps and sponge counts, as well as handle specimens.
• Assist in the application of dressings or casts and moving patients.
• Assist in decontamination/reprocessing area when assigned.
• Maintain inventory in Operating Room and on carts.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist program

Minimum 3 years' experience as a Surgical Technologist

CPR certification

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred

Hourly Pay Range

$24.86 - $37.29 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

• Evanston Hospital
• Glenbrook Hospital
• Skokie Hospital

• Full-time
• Day shifts
