Baptist Health Downtown Campus is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our Main Operating Room Team on a PRN day schedule in Jacksonville, FL. The role supports the surgical team, maintains sterile technique, hands instruments to surgeons, and helps ensure patient safety throughout procedures.

Responsibilities include preparing rooms and cases, coordinating with nursing and ancillary staff, and educating patients and families about diagnoses and plans of care.

Baptist Health is looking for a Surgical Technologist to join our Main Operating Room Team at our Baptist Downtown Campus. This is a PRN, days position.

A surgical technologist in this role will work as part of the surgical services and operating room teams in the Main OR. The individual will assist the surgical team during surgeries, ensure a sterile environment, hand instruments to surgeons during procedures, and maintain patient safety. Between surgeries, the individual will clean and restock the operating room. Throughout the day, precision, attention to detail, and teamwork are paramount in providing quality patient care.

As a Surgical Technologist in the Main OR your responsibilities will include:

• Providing for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement organization.
• Supervision of care provided by supportive personnel and coordination of care provided by ancillary services
• Including patients and significant other (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care
• Education of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care
• Coordination and preparation of assigned room/case, assessment of patient care needs and the anticipation of needs of the case.
• This position does not require call, nights, or weekends

Experience Requirements:

• Less than 1 year Surgical Technologist Experience

Education & Credential Requirements:

• Associate's degree required or equivalent experience in lieu of education.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA or NCCT preferred, but not required

This Surgical Technologist, Main Operating Room position will be located at Baptist Downtown.
