Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join our Surgical Services Team at Baptist Medical Center Downtown in Jacksonville. This full-time day shift position requires flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and participate in the required call rotation.

You will maintain a sterile environment, anticipate the surgeon's needs, handle specimens and instruments, and collaborate to promote patient safety and efficient procedures.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required or equivalent experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA or NCCT preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, organize, and maintain a sterile field for operative procedures.
• Anticipate the surgeon's needs throughout each procedure and prepare instruments and supplies accordingly.
• Ensure proper handling and disposition of surgical specimens and instruments.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety.
• Participate in the required call rotation.

As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in supporting surgeons and the operating room team by maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring safe, efficient surgical procedures.

Experience Requirements

• Less than 1 year Surgical Technologist Experience

Education & Credential Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA or NCCT preferred, but not required.
