Job summary

Southcoast Health is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist for MTM Staffing's in-house traveler team in Fall River, MA. The 11-13 week assignment offers 40 hours per week, day shifts with on-call rotation in the Main Operating Room.

Floating to Charlton Memorial-Fall River, St. Luke's-New Bedford and Tobey-Wareham may be required. Required: Graduation from an approved Surgical Technology Program, CST credential, BLS, and at least 1 year of experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus specialized courses or training.
• Graduation from an approved Surgical Technology Program.
• Certified Surgical Technologist credential required.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• One year of Surgical Technologist experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgical team during intra-operative phase.
• Maintain sterile fields and aseptic technique.
• Prepare OR, organize instruments and supplies.
• Hands off and count instruments throughout procedures.
• Fulfill on-call duties as required.

• 11-13 Week Assignment, with option to extend for 1 additional 13 week assignment if available
• $55/hr

Position Assignment Details:

• Hours: 40hrs
• Shifts: Day Shift with weeknight, weekend and holiday on-call rotation.
• Area Assignment: Main Operating Room

*During assignment, maybe asked to float to any Southcoast Hospital: Charlton Memorial-Fall River, St. Luke's-New Bedford and Tobey--Wareham

Position reports to the Manager or designee. Perform various duties including but not limited to: provide assistance to surgical team during the intra-operative phase, provide aseptic, safe, appropriately equipped and functional surgical environment. Responsible for OR preparation, instrument supply and assembly, maintenance of sterile fields, hands off instruments and initiation of counts throughout procedures. Perform Surgical Technologist duties including on-call duties as need or required.

• Equal to completion of 4 years of high school plus additional specialized courses or training is required.
• Graduation from an approved Surgical Technology Program is required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist credential administered by a nationally recognized surgical technologist certifying body accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies and recognized by the American College of Surgeons and the Association of Surgical Technologist is required.
• Certification in Basic Life Support is required.
• One (1) year of Surgical Technologist experience is required.
