Job summary

Southcoast Health System, Inc. is seeking a full-time Surgical Technologist for their Main Operating Room at Tobey Hospital in Wareham, Massachusetts. Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved Surgical Technology Program is required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist credential is required.
• Certification in Basic Life Support is required.
• One year of Surgical Technologist experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgical team during the intra-operative phase.
• Maintain sterile fields and prepare the OR.
• Perform Surgical Technologist duties including on-call as needed.

Position Assignment Details

• Hours: Full Time
• Shifts: Day Shift with weeknight, weekend and holiday on-call rotation.
• Area Assignment: Main Operating Room @ Tobey Hospital
• During assignment, maybe asked to float to any Southcoast Hospital: Charlton Memorial—Fall River, St. Luke’s—New Bedford and Tobey--Wareham
• 11-13 Week Assignment, with option to extend for 1 additional 13 week assignment if available
• $55/hr
• Health Insurance and 403B retirement plan eligible

Responsibilities

Position reports to the Manager or designee. Perform various duties including but not limited to: provide assistance to surgical team during the intra-operative phase, provide aseptic, safe, appropriately equipped and functional surgical environment. Responsible for OR preparation, instrument supply and assembly, maintenance of sterile fields, hands off instruments and initiation of counts throughout procedures. Perform Surgical Technologist duties including on-call duties as needed or required.

Qualifications

• Completion of 4 years of high school plus additional specialized courses or training is required.
• Graduation from an approved Surgical Technology Program is required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist credential administered by a nationally recognized surgical technologist certifying body accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies and recognized by the American College of Surgeons and the Association of Surgical Technologists is required.
• Certification in Basic Life Support is required.
• One (1) year of Surgical Technologist experience is required.
