Qualifications

• BLS certification required upon hire.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and health care team.
• English reading, writing and speaking abilities required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team as the primary scrub person handling instruments, supplies and equipment.
• Maintain aseptic technique to protect patients and reduce infection risk.
• Ensure accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments; properly label specimens.
• Participate in TIME OUT prior to incision and support perioperative team.
• Collaborate with team and rotate to other Perioperative Services as needed.
