Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to scrub and assist surgeons across all age groups under RN supervision. You will help prepare the surgical suite, maintain aseptic standards, and support instrument and specimen handling throughout procedures.

The role requires a certificate or related training/experience, with 3–5 years of specialty experience preferred, and adherence to HIPAA and privacy policies as described in the company handbook.

Qualifications

• Minimum One year certificate from a college or technical school.
• or three to six months related experience and/or training.
• or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3-5 years’ specialty experience.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competent technical skills and performs scrub functions related to the entro-operative phase.
• Understands, anticipates and adapts to surgeon preference and patient care variables and contributes to updating surgeon preference materials.
• Demonstrates knowledge of accepted procedures performed during the inter-operative phase utilizing proper aseptic techniques and practices standard precautions.
• Assists with the preparation of the surgical suite.
• Contributes to division, hospital, and department goals.
• Performs sponge, needle and instrument count.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
