Qualifikationen

• Education/Certification: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician Program.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year operating room experience required.
• Language/Communication: Must have the ability to effectively read, write, and speak English.
• Mental Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing workloads; make sound judgments.
• Interpersonal: Works well with others.
• Performance: Can work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Aufgaben

• Set up and perform surgical cases by assembling equipment and supplies according to physician preference cards.
• Open sterile packs, supplies, and instruments according to sterile technique.
• Prepare sterile field and count sponges, needles, and instruments; ensure sterility of supplies.
• Assist in cleaning up the operating room and proper disposal of used supplies and sharps.
• Handle specimens according to proper procedure.
• Assist the circulating nurse and collaborate with the team during surgery.
• Demonstrate asepsis principles in all duties.
• Pass instruments to surgeon and assistant during procedures.
