Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room and supplies per surgeon preferences.
• Practice aseptic techniques, including scrubbing, gowning, gloving, and draping.
• Assist in surgical Time and Out and briefing protocols, verifying surgical site and supplies.
• Manage surgical specimens and ensure accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments.
• Follow universal protocols, report concerns affecting patient care, and participate in educational programs.
• Ensure medication and solution labeling under supervision and adhere to policies and standards of care.
