Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist II to support procedures across multiple service lines and assist the RN/Surgical Coordinator and CAP Educator. You will manage instrumentation, maintain records, and uphold safety standards in the operating room.

The role requires at least 2 years of surgical tech experience, certification as CST or equivalent, and strong communication skills. Starting hourly rate is $40.27, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a surgical technologist.
• Proficient in two services with precept experience in one.
• AST CST certification or NJ-exempt equivalent per law.

Responsibilities

• Assists Level III RN coordinator/Surgical Coordinator and/or educator with inventory, instrumentation, and in-service education.
• Oversees the orientation for new ST I team members and precepts them.
• Maintains count of sponges, needles, and instruments; labels medications as required by policy.
• Cleans and handles instruments; ensures proper decontamination and sterile technique.
