Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist I to support the OR team in a fast-paced hospital setting in New Jersey. You will prepare sterile instruments, maintain the sterile field, and assist surgeons under RN supervision, while ensuring infection control and patient safety throughout procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 0–2 years of experience, and certification by the AST or equivalent credentialing body.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Follows policy in standardization of set-ups and utilization of surgeon preference and assumes responsibility for care and proper handling of instruments.
• Adheres to environment of care procedures related to safety, security, and emergency preparedness.
• Observes infection control standards and proper PPE/OR attire per OSHA guidelines.
• Completes annual mandatory training and attends staff meetings.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient and hospital information.
• Assists the surgical team with aseptic techniques and sterile field maintenance.
