Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up operating rooms with supplies and equipment according to surgeon preferences.
• Assist in patient preparation, including sterilization and incisional site washing.
• Pass instruments and supplies to surgical staff, maintaining sterile conditions.
• Participate in surgical safety protocols like Time Out and universal protocols.
• Verify correct surgical site and manage specimen identification and labeling.
• Maintain accurate supply counts, report concerns impacting patient care, and adhere to policies and standards.
• Support medication labeling under supervision and participate in educational programs.
