Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology; completion of surgical tech apprenticeship or military program.
• CST certification preferred but not required in Iowa; CST certification within 18 months of hire if in Illinois.
• BLS; Mandatory Reporter.
• No prior experience is required.
• Ability to work with diverse groups and under pressure; independent and accountable; adaptable to changing duties.

Responsibilities

• The Surgical Technician functions in the scrub role during intraoperative patient care under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse.
• Provides delegated technical support in accordance with Genesis Medical Center philosophies and standards.
