Job summary

MercyOne Health System in the Quad Cities region seeks a Surgical Technician to scrub in intraoperative patient care under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse at Genesis Medical Center.

This full-time, 32-hours-per-week position, scheduled days 9am–5:30pm with on-call rotation for nights, weekends, and holidays, requires graduation from an accredited surgical technology program, or an LPN program with surgical experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology; completion of surgical tech apprenticeship or military program.
• Or graduate of an LPN program with Surgical experience; or equivalent experience to demonstrate competency.
• CST certification preferred but not required in Iowa. CST certification is required within 18‑months of hire, if working in Illinois. LPN license is required if you are a graduate of an LPN program.

Responsibilities

• Surgical Technician functions in the scrub role during intraoperative patient care under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse.
• Support of Genesis Medical Center’s standards and patient care philosophies.

We are looking to hire a Surgical Technician. The Surgical Technician functions in the scrub role during intraoperative patient care, doing so as a delegated technical function under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. The provision of care is consistent through adherence to standards and support of the philosophies of Genesis Medical Center.

Schedule:

• Full-time, 32 hours per week
• Shift: Days 9am - 5:30pm
• On call rotation will be required for nights, weekends, and holidays

General Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology; completion of surgical tech apprenticeship or military program.
• Or graduate of an LPN program with Surgical experience; or equivalent experience to demonstrate competency.
• CST certification preferred but not required in Iowa. CST certification is required within 18-months of hire, if working in Illinois. LPN license is required if you are a graduate of an LPN program.
• At least 2 years' experience is strongly preferred.
• BLS. Mandatory Reporter.
• Ability to work with diverse groups of people; ability to work under pressure and with a large degree of independence and accountability; and the ability to accept responsibility for the direction, control or planning of an activity.
• Adaptability to performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure.

Pay Range: $23.27 - $36.65 per hour
Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar role.
