Job summary

MercyOne Central Iowa is seeking a Surgical Technician to join the Operating Room team in Des Moines. You will prepare the room, maintain sterility, and scrub in for diverse cases including general, gynecology, urology, podiatry, and plastics.

This is a day shift, full-time position with opportunities for growth within MercyOne. Qualifications include graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent experience; LPN graduates with surgical experience are considered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology or completion of a surgical tech apprenticeship/military program.
• LPN graduates with surgical experience may qualify.
• BLS certification is mandatory or required.
• CST certification preferred but not required in Iowa; if working in Illinois, CST within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for procedures, including instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain the sterile field throughout surgery.
• Scrub in across multiple surgical specialties as needed.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and efficiency.
