Qualifications

• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program accredited by ABHES/CAAHEP or by the relevant state authority.
• Certification through NBSTSA or NCCT is required.
• CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Creates and maintains sterile field and anticipates instrumentation and supplies for surgery.
• Facilitates patient flow through case turnover and maintains asepsis in the operating room.
• Maintains sponge, needle, and instrument counts and reports discrepancies as policy requires.
• Develops competency in multiple specialties and may serve as a preceptor.
