Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of surgical technology.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification is required.
• NH Medical Technician registration (MEDT1030) or Tmp Medical Technician (MEDT1051) registration is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains aseptic technique while providing a quiet environment in the OR suite respecting the dignity and privacy of the patient.
• Shares in OR suite preparation. Uses and maintains specialized equipment and supplies used for specific surgical procedures.
• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon to expedite the procedure.
• Utilizes surgical instruments and knowledge of the step-by-step sequences of surgical procedures.
• Assumes shared responsibility for proper handling of surgical specimens.
• Assists in training and orientation of new employees.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.
