Job summary

UCHealth Eye Surgery Center in Aurora, CO is seeking a certified surgical technologist to join our eye surgery team. The role involves performing the first scrub for core and specialty procedures, maintaining sterile technique, and supporting the surgeon with instrumentation.

The position is onsite, dayshift, full-time (80 hours per pay period). There is potential to precept staff and grow within UCHealth’s career ladder as experience increases.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of accredited Surgical Tech program or AS degree or military training.
• Licensure/certification: CST or Surgical Technologist registration (NBSTSA/NCCT).

Responsibilities

• Performs first scrub role independently in multiple service lines.
• Prepares and uses instrumentation and equipment properly; supports surgeon preference cards.
• Precepts other staff in the scrub role and enforces sterile technique throughout procedures.
• Maintain medication safety and surgical counts; anticipate surgeon requests during procedures.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
