Job summary

Kern Medical, part of Kern County Hospital Authority, is hiring a Surgical Technologist I/II for a full-time position in Bakersfield, CA. The role covers preoperative and intraoperative duties in a fast-paced OR, with emphasis on sterile technique and patient safety.

The ideal candidate has graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program, a surgical tech certification, and at least 3 years of acute care OR experience. Shift premium and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology Training Program.
• Surgical Technician Certification required.
• 3+ years of experience in an acute care OR setting.

Responsibilities

• Preoperative duties: assist with patient transfer, positioning, open supplies, sterile setup, counts, and draping.
• Intraoperative duties: anticipate instrumentation, pass instruments, coordinate endoscopic/robotic equipment as directed, maintain sterile field.
• Additional duties: turnover cleaning, monitor patient comfort, assist in maintaining normothermia, document procedures.
