Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Lake Forest, IL is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to support the operating room during Monday–Friday 3:00pm–11:30pm with 4–5 call shifts in a 6-week cycle. You will help prepare the surgical suite and assist with patient positioning and instrumentation to ensure safe, efficient procedures.

Candidates must graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program, obtain CST certification within 12 months of hire, and hold CPR/BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) within twelve months of hire.
• CPR – Basic Life Support required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, medications, solutions, instruments, equipment, implants, and supplies. Ensures availability and functionality of equipment and instruments.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
• Receives and processes specimens, if required, for delivery to the laboratory.

This position will be Monday-Friday from 3:00pm-11:30pm Additionally, there will be 4-5 call requirement shifts within a 6-week period.
