Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Warrenville, IL seeks a Certified Surgical Technician to support the operating room team. You will assist with preparing the surgical suite, passing instruments, and ensuring instrument counts and sterility.

The role requires graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program, CST certification within 12 months of hire, and CPR-BLS. You will work in a fast-paced environment committed to patient safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) within twelve months of hire.
• CPR – Basic Life Support.

Responsibilities

• Prepares operating suite with drapes, medications, solutions, instruments, equipment and implants.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Passes instruments to physician during surgery and tracks instrument counts.
• Receives and processes specimens, if required, for delivery to the laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, medications, solutions, instruments, equipment, implants, and supplies. Ensures availability and functionality of equipment and instruments.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
• Receives and processes specimens, if required, for delivery to the laboratory.

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) within twelve months of hire
