Job summary

Northwest Orthopaedic Specialists is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center in Spokane, WA. The role offers a day shift (4-10s) with no weekends, nights, on-call, or major holidays.

Responsibilities include preparing instruments, anticipating surgeon needs, aseptic technique, sponge/needle counts, autoclave operations, and supporting efficient case flow. Required WA Surgical Tech registration and BLS; surgical tech program graduate; prior experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Registered Surgical Technologist with active Washington state licensure.
• Basic Life Support certification is required.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Ability to problem solve and remain calm in high-stress situations.
• Previous Surgical Technologist experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instruments and supplies for each case efficiently.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and provide correct items promptly.
• Utilize preference cards and schedules for case readiness.
• Maintain instrument and supply integrity; report concerns.
• Promote productivity with prompt turnover and efficient case flow.
• Perform sterile scrubs, gowning, and glove procedures using aseptic technique.
• Conduct sponge and needle counts with RN per procedure.
• Properly distribute and dispose biohazards; follow standard precautions.
• Operate autoclave and document results per policy.

Description

Northwest Orthopaedic Specialists is looking for a Surgical Technologist to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center.

NWOS is closed on all weekends and major holidays. No night shifts or on-call.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Prepares instruments and supplies for each case in an efficient and effective manner.
• Anticipates surgeon needs by promptly providing correct items as needed.
• Utilizes preference cards and surgery schedule prior to each case.
• Utilize equipment and supplies in a cost-effective manner. Maintain the integrity of supplies, equipment and instruments, and reports concerns appropriately.
• Assists with prompt turnover and start of surgical cases to actively promote productivity and efficient case flow.
• Performs surgical scrub and gowns and gloves self and others using aseptic technique.
• Conducts sponge and needle counts with RN per procedure.
• Distributes and disposes of biohazards appropriately and practices standard precautions at all times.
• Runs autoclave and documents results according to department policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Washington State Surgical Tech Registration
• BLS
• Graduated an accredited Surgical Technology Program
• Ability to problem solve and think critically in high stress situations
• Previous Surgical Technologist experience preferred, but not required

SHIFT:

• Day shift, 4-10's. No weekends, no nights, on- call, or major holidays.
