Job summary

Medix Staffing Solutions, Inc. seeks an experienced Surgical Technologist to support an outpatient surgical team in Leawood, KS. This role offers a four-day workweek and a competitive hourly pay range of $25–$31, aligned to the daily OR schedule.

Responsibilities include preparing OR suites, scrubbing in for non-emergent procedures across multiple specialties, and maintaining a sterile, well-organized environment. Strong teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months to 1 year of hands-on operating room scrub experience.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and fast-paced surgical environments.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain operating room suites for scheduled surgical procedures.
• Scrub in and assist surgeons during a variety of non-emergent, multi-specialty procedures.
• Anticipate surgical team needs and ensure instruments and supplies are readily available.
• Properly handle, count, organize, and dispose of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Maintain a safe, sterile environment while following established surgical protocols.
• Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other surgical staff.
• Demonstrate strong critical thinking and communication skills to support efficient OR workflows.
