Job summary

Medix Staffing Solutions, Inc. seeks an experienced Surgical Technologist to join an outpatient surgical team in Leawood, KS. This role supports a variety of non-emergent procedures in a collaborative, multi-specialty environment.

The schedule includes four 9.5‑hour shifts per week with early starts (as early as 5:45 AM) for preoperative prep. You will scrub in, maintain a sterile OR, and coordinate with surgeons and nurses to ensure efficient workflows.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months to 1 year of hands-on OR scrub experience.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced OR.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain operating room suites for scheduled surgical procedures.
• Scrub in and assist surgeons during non-emergent, multi-specialty procedures.
• Anticipate team needs and ensure instruments and supplies are available.
• Handle, count, organize, and dispose of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Maintain a safe, sterile environment following surgical protocols.
• Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, NPs, PAs, and surgical staff.
• Demonstrate strong critical thinking to support efficient OR workflows.
