Job summary

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from high school and graduation from an accredited program for surgical technologist or completed a training program administered by the United States Public Health Service, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps or Coast Guard.
• Certified Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification accepted by the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgeons throughout surgery as a member of the surgical team.
• Anticipates the surgeon's needs for procedures and instruments.
• Maintains sterility and transports patients.
