Qualifications

• Associate Degree or Certificate of Program Completion in Surgical Technology: Required
• Relevant acute care experience: Preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required

Responsibilities

• Verifies surgery to be performed with consent forms and brings patient to assigned operating room.
• Passes instruments to surgeon during procedure and anticipates surgeon's needs.
• Performs counts with circulator prior to incision and before closure.
• Prepares sterile dressings and secures dressings after incision closure.
• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions.
• Assists in prepping room for next patient and cleans room for turnover.
