Job summary

LCMC Health in New Orleans, LA is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team and ensure safe surgeries. You’ll assist with patient positioning, sterile prep, and instrument handling, acting as an extra pair of hands for the surgeon as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Current BLS certification is required; surgical experience preferred.
• Sign-on bonus available for eligible candidates.

Responsibilities

• Assist the circulating nurse with patient positioning and site preparation.
• Establish and maintain an organized sterile field and handle instruments.
• Prepare the operating room with sterile supplies, instruments, and sutures.
• Scrub, gown, glove, drape and count according to policy with the team.
• Serve as first scrub on basic surgical cases when needed.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and assist with retracting tissue and passing instruments.
