Job summary

LCMC Health in New Orleans, LA, is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support safe surgeries in our operating rooms. You will assist with patient positioning, sterile field setup, and scrub duties, ensuring asepsis and proper instrument handling.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with NBSTSA or NCCT and current BLS certification.
• Experience in Ophthalmology, Neuro/Spine, or Robotics is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the circulating nurse with patient positioning, prep of operative site, specimens, and room turnover.
• Establish and maintain an organized sterile field.
• Provide scrub assistance during procedures with knowledge of anatomy, supplies, and asepsis.
• Ensure aseptic technique and proper instrument sterilization; report issues to the circulating nurse.
• Prepare the OR by opening sterile supplies, instruments, and sutures per procedure and surgeon preference card.
• Follow scrubbing, gowning, gloving, back table setup, draping, and counting policies with the circulating nurse.
