Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital, part of Trinity Health Of New England, is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the Nursing Support team in the OR. This per diem, day-shift role supports surgeons and nurses by maintaining sterile fields and handling supplies.

Under supervision of registered nurses, you will prepare sterile/unsterile supplies, transport and position patients, report incidents, and cross-train between Main OR and Ambulatory Unit.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology.
• Licensure: Certified CST from NBSTSA
• Certification: BLS from American Heart Association or Red Cross
• Experience: Minimum one year of scrub experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the preparation of sterile/unsterile supplies and equipment.
• Assumes responsibility for the proper care of all supplies and equipment; transports patients and assists with transferring patients from stretcher to table and vice versa; assists with lifting and positioning patients.
• Reports unusual occurrences to the Operating Room Director or designee and contributes to the efficient and productive operations of the Operating Room.
• Cross‑training between Main OR and Ambulatory Unit.
