Job summary

UCHealth in Pueblo, CO seeks a Surgical Technologist to facilitate safe, efficient surgical procedures in an onsite, full-time role. You will prepare the operating suite, assist with patient positioning, pass instruments, and manage specimens with strict adherence to sterility and safety protocols.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, Surgical Technologist registration, 1 year of experience, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED or Military trained.
State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration.
1 year of Surgical Technologist experience.
BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, valid through start date.

Responsibilities

Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies.
Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments. Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
