Job summary

IHA is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support surgeons and residents by preparing instruments, supplies, and equipment, while ensuring strict aseptic technique and proper sterile practices.

The role requires completion of an Accredited Surgical Technologist Program, certification within one year, and ongoing commitment to professional standards within a Catholic healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technologist Program is required.
• Certification Examination must be completed within one year of employment.
• Certification must be maintained throughout employment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with diverse groups and perspectives.
• Demonstrates commitment to the organization's mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons and residents by selecting, organizing, and passing surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment as directed.
• Maintain highest aseptic technique during all operative procedures and ensure proper attire, hand scrubbing, gowning, gloving, and sterile field control.
• Identify breaches in aseptic technique and implement corrective actions.
• Perform reprocessing including decontamination, tray assembly, sterilization, documentation, and issue resolution.
• Carry out other related duties as assigned.
