Job summary

AdventHealth in Wesley Chapel, Florida, is seeking a Surgical Technologist for a full-time, day-shift role in the operating room. The role supports the surgical team by preparing instruments, maintaining aseptic technique, and ensuring patient safety throughout procedures.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent preferred for Surgical Technology.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Formal Surgical Technology program preferred or in progress.
• Currently enrolled or completed approved Surgical Technology program.

Responsibilities

• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and informs circulating nurse during procedures.
• Maintains high standards to facilitate cost savings and containment.
• Assembles supplies, equipment, and medications prior to procedures.
• Supports satisfaction activities; maintains relationships with physicians and staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Monitors aseptic technique and corrects breaks in technique.
• Identifies environmental concerns and ensures regulatory compliance.
• Supervises team members and assists with orientation and training.
• Promotes a safe environment and responds to emergencies.
• Follows infection control practices and PPE guidelines.
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives.
• Provides assistance to surgical team as needed.
• Directs ancillary personnel during room turnover.
