Azza HealthCare Agency in Scranton, PA is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support surgical teams by preparing sterile fields, assisting during procedures, and ensuring patient safety. The role involves on-call rotations, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a focus on accuracy and teamwork.

You will participate in briefings, verify sites and supplies, handle specimens, assist with admission/discharge, and adhere to universal precautions.

Qualifications

• Current CST certification required unless exempt under state law.
• Completion of a specialty training program.
• Ability to perform in a clinical environment with attention to safety, accuracy, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during procedures.
• Coordinate treatments.
• Connect patients to equipment as needed.
• Practice aseptic techniques and maintain sterile fields.
• Participate in surgical briefings and verify surgical site and supplies.
• Handle specimens and assist with specimen collection.
• Change dressings and manage dressing changes.
• Maintain universal precautions and initiate emergency responses as required.
• Participate in patient admission, discharge, and billing processes.
• Provide patient transport and assist with focused post-mortem care.
• Contribute to quality control and adherence to policies.
