Job summary

Bailey Medical Center in Owasso, OK is hiring a day shift, full-time Labor and Delivery Certified Surgical Tech to join our obstetric team. You will work under the supervision of physicians and RNs, preparing the delivery suite and ensuring sterile technique.

Ideal candidates are graduates of an accredited Surgical Technology program with NBSTSA or NCCT certification and BLS certification within 14 days of hire. One year of Labor and Delivery CST experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology Training Program.
• NBSTSA or NCCT Certified Surgical Tech.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• One year Labor and Delivery Surgical Tech experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direct supervision of the Physician and the Registered Nurse.
• Prepare the operating/delivery room and ensure readiness with sterile technique.
• Serve as primary scrub tech handling instruments, supplies, and equipment during procedures and deliveries.
• Anticipate physician's needs and obtain additional items from the circulator.
• Perform sterile table and room turnover after procedures.
• Respond to on-call obligations with a 30-minute response time.

Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech:

• The Obstetric (OB) Surgical Technologist provides patient care under the direct supervision of the Physician and the Registered Nurse.
• Demonstrate responsibility and accountability in selecting, assembling, testing, and operating equipment and instruments by policies and procedures.
• Prepares the operating room/delivery room and checks to assure readiness for patient, with attention to sterile technique.
• Perform as a primary scrub tech handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures and deliveries while applying principles of sterile technique.
• Anticipates physician's needs and requests additional items from the circulator.
• Performs sterile table and room turnover following the procedure.
• Perform additional patient care assigned by the RN.
• Respond to on-call obligations with a 30-minute response time.
